Soundtrack_Cologne announces TV composer line-up for 13th Annual Music Conference

SoundTrack_Cologne is happy to announce all special guests of Theme Day „Music in TV“ on August 27th: Jeff Russo („Fargo“), Reinhold Heil („Cloud Atlas“, „Deutschland 83“), Miriam Cutler („Ethel“, „The Hunting Ground“) and Łukasz Targosz („Floating Skyscrapers“, „The Game“)!

Each of the guests will participate in a workshop discussion in which they will talk about their body of work, upcoming projects and about the business of scoring for TV. They will also be available for questions from the audience.

Jeff Russo established himself as a composer in Hollywood with his scores for dozens of TV series like „CSI:Cyber“, „Power“ and „Manhattan“. He is the composer of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning television series ” Fargo “, which is inspired by the eponymous thriller by the Coen brothers. In addition to composing for TV, Russo is still lead guitarist of the rockband TONIC which was Grammy nominated two times and reached platinum status.

The television series „Deutschland 83“ was an international success. The German composer Reinhold Heil, won the Grimme Award (German TV Award) in 2016 for his work on this series. In addition, he co-scored the German cult cinema hit “Run Lola Run”, the blockbuster “The International” and “Cloud Atlas, which was nominated for a „Best Score“ Golden Globe. He is currently working on the new EPIX TV series „Berlin Station“ scheduled to be released in the fall of 2016. Reinhold Heil lives in Los Angeles.

Early on in Miriam Cutler’s career she was part of Danny Elfman’s band „Oingo Boingo“. Since then the Emmy-nominated composer has scored over hundred documentaries and movies. With director Rory Kennedy she cooperated on the  documentaries „Pandemic: Facing AIDS“ and „Ethel“. Furthermore Miriam Cutler scored „American Promise“, „Ghosts of Abu Graib“ and „The Hunting Ground“ amongst others.

Miriam is a co-founder and board member of „The Alliance for Women Film Composers“, an organization dedicated to empower Women Film Composers, as well as an advisor for the Sundance Institute Composers Lab and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Polish composer Łukasz Targosz was awarded for his music by several international film festivals such as Roma Fiction Fest and the Canada International Film Festival. Targosz wrote the music for over 40 soundtracks for various projects. He scored the HBO series „The Pact“ and „The Border“ („Wataha“), which currently has it’s international run in several countries worldwide. His compositions are characterized by enormous precision and passion for melody. Live instruments which are electronical tuned are one of his qualities.
